Must-see Shows at Hall for Cornwall in 2024

Right across the road from our bustling hotel, restaurant and bar is Hall for Cornwall, the county’s leading theatre and concert venue with a 1,000-seater newly refurbished stunning auditorium.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK, 22 Jan – 27 Jan 2024

Fancy a spooky start to next year? This legendary production of Susan Hill’s chilling ghost story The Woman in Black comes to Truro direct from London’s West End after an incredible 33 year run at the Fortune Theatre. An incredible combination of atmosphere, illusion and horror, you’ll have to be brave to book this one, so why not have a drink to steady your nerves at Mannings bar before heading to the theatre! 


A brilliant introduction to Shakespeare for all the family, this adaptation of Romeo and Juliet uses an edited version of the original language making it ideal for young people aged 7-13. This is the latest in a series of ‘First Encounters productions’, making Shakespeare’s star cross’d lovers relevant for a new generation of theatregoers.

THE LIFE OF PI, 28 May – 1 Jun 2024

Based on the global phenomenon and winner of the Man Booker Prize, selling over fifteen million copies worldwide, Life Of Pi is the hugely popular story of an epic journey of endurance and hope. Jaw-dropping visuals and world-class puppetry combine to make this a unique and breath-taking theatrical event. 

This West End and Broadway spectacle is on its first ever UK tour, so why not make a night of it and book into one of our hotel rooms to ensure you’ll get to enjoy it without rushing to catch a train or journey home.

Join BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Monty Don at the Hall for Cornwall in November as he shares his passion for gardens and the unique role they play in human inspiration and wellbeing to raise money for mental health charity Mind. Monty will share tales from his career in gardening, detail his favourite gardens – both ancient and modern, and reveal how he fell in love with the natural world. 

Enjoy Monty’s timely and thought-provoking celebration of the ever-surprising and comforting presence of nature and then head over the road to our restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food prepared using local, fresh produce wherever possible.
