Here at Mannings, we were excited to learn more about The BIG Christmas Market 2023 recently, as the news was revealed that the annual festive market will be bigger and better than ever this year!
On Wednesday 29th November the magical market experience begins, running through until Christmas Eve. This year the stallholders – all of whom are outstanding local producers, small businesses, or skilled craftspeople – will be housed in cosy wooden cabins festooned with sparkling lights and festive greenery. They’ll be a gorgeous Christmas tree to provide a focal point for yuletide music and entertainment, and we’ve heard rumours of a snow globe too…

The BIG Christmas Market is developing into a proper destination market to rival those of other historic cities across the UK, with artisan local food, drink, art, and craft taking centre stage. In short, Truro is getting the Christmas Market it deserves!
In addition to the festive fun on our doorstep here on Lemon Quay, more stalls will pop-up on Boscawen Street every Wednesday and Saturday, adding to the irresistible prospect of a visit to Truro this Christmastime.
The hard-working team behind Truro Farmers Market, who are hosting the event, said: “Each day a wide range of stalls will showcase local food, drink, art, and crafts, while street food, music, festive happenings, and family entertainment will add an immersive feel to the month-long market. Shoppers will be able to tuck into mulled wine and mince pies, as local choirs serenade them with yuletide carols and Christmas lights sparkle overhead. It really is the most wonderful time of the year at market!”

It goes without saying that Mannings is at your disposal throughout the month-long event; our bar and restaurant area are ready to welcome tired shopping legs and refresh you with drinks, lunches, and evening meals. Breakfast is available to non-residents 7 – 9.30am (8 – 10am on Sundays) and we now serve food non-stop from midday onwards, so whenever you’re ready to hit the pause button you’ll find our affordable, flexible new menus have something delicious to offer.
